Depends where in Phoenix and where in Scottsdale. Scottsdale is about 30 or so miles long, and Phoenix is huge.

Ballpark times, say downtown areas.

Manhattan is huge too. If someone were to ask me how long it takes to get to the City from my area I'd say an hour and 15mins....

Sorry Manhattan is tiny compared to the Phoenix area. Your looking about an hour heading in to downtown Phoenix, and longer depending on the time of day. Maybe 45 min to an hour to south Scottsdale.

Manhattan is 33 sq miles while Phoenix is 519 sq miles (NOT including suburb cities like Glendale, Scottsdale, etc).

One thing I never understood from people ho ask about distances and commutes...why don't you use Google Maps? If you put the city namesin, it tells you city center to city center in miles and time both with and without traffic.

In this exemple, it is 33.7 miles and 52 minutes without traffic from Cave Creek to downtown Phoenix.

Relax, bigtime. I should have used NYC as a reference and not Manhattan.

Why work to figure something out on your own when you can ask someone who will do the work for you?

In general, I have found google maps to be very accurate in measurements but OTL when it comes to time.... and I mean completely out to lunch.

I drive roughly from the intersection of I-17 / Carefree Highway to 101 / Raintree.

I take the backway of Carefree Highway to Scottsdale Rd to the 101. It takes me about 35 minutes each way. I've found that route to have less variation as I have yet to get stuck in traffic.

The times I took I-17 to the 101 and around to Raintree, bumper to bumper traffic between I-17 and the Highway 51 was hit or miss about half the time.

I'm not sure how much that helps. Carefree Highway won't get the OP to Phoenix from whatever location is being referred to as "Cave Creek".
