Portillos!!!! Ate at Portillos today and they had a new flyer stating new locations will be opening up in AZ soon. It's about time!!

People from Chicago you know what I'm talking about!

"Beef and Cheddar croissant with sweet peppers, hot dog with everything, and a piece of chocolate cake please!"

Cannot wait. I have been jonesing for some good food. Al's and Luke's are good but too expensive. I hope Portillos is more reasonable.

I'd say its reasonable priced for the quality and taste. The girl and I go there often and are stuffed for about 18-20 bucks max. Come on, where are the Chicago people?!

About 3 years ago, my daughter and I wrote to the owner asking him to please come to AZ cause all us Chi town peeps were missing our hotdogs. The search for Chicago dogs has gone on and on here, but we never found anything quite the same. So, although I cannot take any credit for his decision, perhaps he was swamped with out west Chicagoans asking for a Portillos here. Where will it (they) be?? Hope its not Scottsdale.

According to this early article, they were scouting locations in Tempe, Chandler, Phoenix and Scottsdale. Looks like Tempe Marketplace and Chandler Fashion Center may be first in line. Good news for me!!

Always you east valley guys that get the good stuff first. Looks like a reason for a road trip.

I'd Say Tempe Marketplace would be a great place to build first. That's my opinion of course. Just one more reason for me to move to AZ.

I eat at Portillos at least once every two weeks....I would say if you wanted to open a franchise you can't go wrong with them...they just pack them in at lunch and at dinner.

Their drive throughs can accomindate about 15 cars and they usually have 3 or 4 people walking to take orders just to keep up.......just love their chilly cheese dogs.
