I'm salivating at the thought of a beef/sausage combo with a chocolate cake shake.

Best beef Chicago has to offer. I was eating at Dazzo's before a Coyotes game last season when a guy walked in and announced Portillo's was coming (though he said it would be in Chandler). The guy working said "I hope it's not near here."

Good for Dazzo's that it's Scottsdale and good for the folks in metro Phoenix. I cannot wait.

The Chandler location fell through for now. Tempe Marketplace location should be up sometime next year.

Now living in Chicago area but moving to Phoenix area next year. Have been to many Portillo's locations here and it is one of the best places ever. Very good news for the Illinois transplants now in Arizona.

Portillo's was one my first jobs back in high school. I worked at the one at Rt. 83 and St. Charles Rd in Elmhurst. Used to be a strip mall endcap then they tore it down and built a new freestanding one in its place. I used to make the trip to Portillo's every time I was up in the Chicagoland area while I was still living in downstate Illinois. So glad they are coming to Phoenix as they are an institution in Chicago. I also hope they keep the period themes for the AZ locations. I especially liked the 50's themed restaurants like the one I worked in.
