Our house is under contract!

Home inspection went relatively well; the inspector found nothing that we weren't expecting. Buyers are VERY reasonable - the "demand" letter from their attorney was only half a page long. We countered with a bit under that; the buyers accepted almost immediately.

Considering some of the horror stories we've heard (one was two houses down from us; the buyers were so demanding, the sellers were about 3 seconds away from cancelling the contract and putting the house back on the market), we're counting our blessings.

Looks like closing the week of 09 Jul. Buyers are giving us several days of post-closing possession, gratis - so moving out should be smooth. We're driving out; should be at my folks in Scottsdale somewhere around 14-15 Jul.

Wish us luck, people.

For the time being. Primary reason for moving is to be near my parents (they're both getting up in years), so we'll be getting an apartment close by. My brother (who lives a couple of miles from them) returns from his deployment to Afghanistan Mar 2013. If my wife and I decide that we like the "new and improved" version of the Valley enough, we'll go house hunting. If not, we may move on to Albuquerque, which was our first relocation choice - it's close enough to get to my folks in case of emergency, but too far away to just drop by and see if they need anything.
