You will get A LOT for your budget if you buy in 85257. Completely remodeled, high-end finishes, custom details type stuff. I love this area and would like to eventually move up in price but stay in this zip code or 85251, because it is so centrally located and well-priced. Some of the neighborhoods around me south of McDowell are hit or miss, so maybe stay north of there. I love my home but I do live next to a co-op and north of a trailer park. There are suburban areas with only single family homes as well as some that have more condos and apartments, so you'd have to look around to see which parts suit you.
