We'll be in Phoenix for a wedding next weekend and I wanted to stop by and try out Pizzeria Bianco. I know some believe it's overhyped, but I still want to stop in and see for myself.

I remember the wait times were really bad a while back. Have they gone back to a normal wait? Is there even a wait around 11:30am on a Saturday? Just want to know if we should plan on getting there early or not (it's 6 of us).

Thanks in advance.

here's the website....call and see what they say!.....hard to know if a special event or big group may show five minutes before you.....

http://www.pizzeriabianco.com/locations/

yes, many feel it's over-hyped....the owner/founder stepped back from the operation a year or more ago, I read, and many people go there just to say they went there - not because of any perceived fantastic pizza worth waiting an hour or more for....

but I hope the wedding goes perfectly

And then there a lot of people who do feel the wait is worthwhile. Meanwhile there are more options for the pizza. Pane Bianco on Central has 4 of the 6 pizzas that the main location has, in the evenings, with little or no wait. The Town and Country location has all 6 as well, for both lunch and dinner.

I've been to Bianco twice. I was seated immediately on both occasions. It's good but the most overrated pie I have eaten. I prefer Pino's Pizza Al Centro. But if your dead set on trying it's worth a shot. There's plenty of dining options nearby and Pino's is a short drive away if you feel the line is too long when you get there.

The one at the Quarter is awful.

The original Grimaldi's in Brooklyn is fantastic. I've heard from multiple sources that the one here stinks.

I really can't second the recommendation for Pinos ........ it's decent and priced pretty well, but nothing special about the pizza or the place IMO

The Bianco hype has really died down it seems since Chris left the oven - another downtown pizza option I really like is Cibo

Cibo has great food but the owner is an arrogant POS that has no business being in the customer service industry.
