Hubby works at Sky Harbor and we live in Goodyear. The commute can be anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour. The 25 minutes is when he goes in at really odd times and the hour would be rush-hour during the winter.

I-10 west through Avondale and Goodyear is a mess.

I think they're doing some Widening work - seems like it's been forever since they started. So good luck on the commute with all that road construction.

I've been checking out north goodyear and north avondale, they both look beautiful, so far we haven't seen any sketchy neighborhoods north of the I-10 in that area.

Estrella isn't Avondale though - most of Goodyear (even south of the I-10) is OK

I think Avondale south of the I-10 isn't that bad if you stay east of the Aqua Fria

In Avondale, for the most part, avoid south of the I-10. Goodyear is another option you may want to consider. With Goodyear, stay north of the I-10 or west of the airport.

I have only been to avondale once but is the name of the community where the ponds are right behind the houses. The houses looked much newer there. I currently live in san diego in a very good area. it's a big melting pot which i like. Is it like that over there also?
