It is the July "dry patch" we get each year where there is both humidity and 115ish temps that I fear.
I don't think that the moisture will reach Phoenix anytime soon. The delay is happening for the desert areas. We have already had two 115 days, and that's how many we average each year. It could happen again, but you're right that it is less likely then it would be otherwise in June.

Yup. And couple that with overnight lows approaching 90. :/

The moisture will be here over the weekend, and there will be dust storms and even rain early next week, maybe sooner with the dust. There is no "delay". The monsoon is early this year (low grade for now). There was never any real science behind that prediction it would be late. Just speculation by the talking heads on TV.

I will go out on a limb and predict that monsoon will end early and very sharply this year though as the storms start coming in from the west due to the El Nino effects.

It will only bring an increase in clouds, not rain.

Wunderground is predicting the possibility of rain Sunday or Monday nights. Whether we get any by Tuesday night is a question. But I figure that means a storm system is moving this way and predicted to arrive Sunday sometime. If nothing else it's shade.

I wouldn't count on it.

The rain. It will likely just be a rise in cloud cover.

Don't we know it, Guy...

Clouds, haze & smoke we will mostly always have with us. It's that RAIN that's a bit aloof.
