I drive by here every day and there is nothing going on at this location. They knocked down the Duncan Family Farm a couple months ago and now it is a vacant field and there is no work going on there.

It was my understanding it was in the FTZ zone not Duncan Farms land. It's my understanding that the FTZ zone starts at Wolf/Subzero and runs north along 303 until it passes REI. Basically the PV303 development.

I recently saw dirt being moved between Wolf/Subzero and Dicks, assuming it was for the DC. I could be wrong but them's the facts as I know them...

This is what I read...

"Aldi is in the process of buying city-owned and private land on Indian School Road and Cotton Lane, a lot commonly known as the Duncan Farms."

Grocery chain Aldi to open regional distribution center in Arizona

Ahhh, different article, good catch. Now the question is, what are they building next to Dicks...

The FTZ Zone which encompasses PV303 starts at about Thomas and goes to Camelback on both sides of the 303, i.e. the new UPS DC is in the FTZ.

Of course as it's part of the PV303 development. Interesting that it goes all the way to Thomas.

So it looks like Aldi is coming here after all. They announced the first AZ store in Buckeye.

Quoting myself here now that it's announced.

This is the type of place I definitely won't be stepping foot in. Same with WinCo Foods, no interest. Give me Sprouts and Fry's and I'm set. If anything I'd like to see some out of area upscale markets open locations here but that's likely not going to happen once garbage like Aldi oversaturates the market.

Not everyone can afford to shop in "upscale markets", especially in Buckeye. The "garbage" you describe is necessary for some folks and I'll happily step foot in and check out.

Prices have skyrocketed all over with food, restaurants, services, etc. since the minimum wage hike. I'm looking forward to some lower cost options.

I'm fully aware there are broke people, that's why I mentioned it competes with Wal Mart and Rancho it's just not for me and I was speaking for myself.
