Hello,
My husband and I are looking to relocate to the Phoenix area in the near future. We are very flexible as to where we will move; my parents live in Maricopa so we'd hopefully be within ~1.5-2 hours from them.

We are both nurses. We'd like to live close to a major medical center in a place that has a good school district (we have a 5 month old). Our budget for purchasing would be ~$300k. We would rent first, though, to see how we like the area.

Thanks!

You could be in the Chandler or Kyrene school districts and not be far from the Banner Desert Medical Center/Cardon Children's Hospital complex in west Mesa. (or, for that matter, from Chandler Regional Hospital, which would be closer and a somewhat smaller but still very good facility). You'd also be not as from your parents in Maricopa as you would be in other parts of the Valley.

Chandler and Gilbert along the 202 is a big medical corridor. Off Val Vista in Gilbert is the VA Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Hospital and endless buildings of various medical offices. Several floors of Mercy Gilbert is also aPhoenix Childrens Hospital.

Off Dobson in Chandler is Chandler Regional, they are level I trauma so it is one of the busier hospitals in the state. Endless buildings of various medical offices surround that as well.

You can also consider Desert Ridge area - there are a lot of 3bedroom homes in the <=$300k - and school district is good. It is far from Maricopa about 1 hour! Near the Mayo Hospital off 101 .. then there is the Abrazo hospital on Bell off the 51 which is in the 85032 zip and considered I believe the PV school district - that is if you want to consider north valley

I can't argue with that recommendation.

Desert Ridge has an enormous shopping/dining/entertainment complex. The Mayo Clinic, while not a pediatric facility, is the #1 rated hospital in Arizona. You'd also be close to a big newer Whole Foods just off 101, if you care about that, and all the amenities of North Scottsdale.

An hour away isn't that much. Sometimes it's good to have a little buffer from family.

Desert Ridge is a good suggestion. It's probably further than an hour from Maricopa (always depends on time of day and traffic), but still not bad.

Thank you all.

If we did want to be closer, would Chandler/Gilbert be good options?

Are there any parts of these two areas that we should avoid?

Thank you.
