How often do you clean your AC coils (both condenser and compressor)? Should I do it annually? - Thanks.

I hose down my condenser unit a few times throughout the summer, more when the dust storms roll through. Just don't spray the fins with high pressure as it will damage them,a garden hose with a light fan pattern is al you need. I saw one of my neighbors once using his pressure washer on his.

I've never had to clean the compressor coils yet but I change my filters often and have no pets here. I had someone check my whole system out when I bought the house and the compressor coils were fine.

Thanks and good point. Unfortunately, not so easy with rooftop packaged units. I think I stick with once a year, unless someone saw dramatic improvements from doing it more frequently. The other day I had to fix a leak on the elbow and it sucked doing it in heat and humidity.
