I do not know how one would not die of heat stroke if you were homeless in Phoenix in August. I guess they know where to get some free AC, but it seemed like there must be some homeless deaths from the heat. I mean, even non-homeless, your AC goes out and that is an life or death emergency.

Here in CO you will see some nutjob jogging in 2 feet of snow and ice at 6 and it is like -2. I thought that was crazy. Then I went to Phoenix and see people jogging at 2 PM and its 116 out. I legit do not know how you could live doing that. At least 6 am snow jogger can add layers, and body heat/activity provides some warmth. But there is nothing you can do to cool down when you are out in the sun.
The ones I feel sorry for are the "runners" who pick up our trash. They literally run from house to house with a large plastic trash barrel on wheels.

To make it even worse, now they are saying that poorer Arizonans who use fans to cool off are actually just making things HOTTER for themselves.........

Cold weather I think is easier to deal with. You can dress for the cold. You can't dress cool enough for 115+ I mean you can keep yourself out of the Sun and just go straight from your car to the building but try standing out in the Sun for any length of time.
You don't have to shovel the heat.

My mom always wants to talk about the weather here (she lives in the midwest) and asks if I have seen the forecast. I always tell her I don't even look at it. As long as I am not cold, I don't care! Not being cold is the only thing that matters to me.

It is miserable here and it is only going to get worse. This year there was no monsoon to speak of. Without monsoon, there is little to cap summer temps. It has been endless excessive heat warnings all summer. This could be the pattern going forward. There is no joy at all in coping with day after day, week after week of temperatures near 115. People would be crazy to move here considering global warming.

Maybe it's just me but I actually don't think this summer's been that bad compared to other ones I've experienced here. Last year's was even better but the couple years before seemed much more oppressive. I would have liked to have seen some more monsoon rains, though.

Uh, don't warmists believe temps are going to rise everywhere?

Might as well come to Phoenix.
