Rain off and on all day today in NW Mesa. Spectacular lightening storm early this evening, too.

It is not a regular thing...I mean we don't even have tornado sirens or anything. Last one I remember was out near the CA/AZ border a couple of years back.

AZ Hospitality...just trying to make mid-westerners feel at home. We decided to start having earthquakes for all the Californians so...you're welcome.

That fertilizer is probably more more effective than the kind of fertilizer the NWS is frequently known for spewing.

Sky Harbor officaially received 0.18 inch, and other parts of the metro area received less than that, while much of the moisture went to the north & east. I received probably a little more than a quarter inch at my house in a thunderstorm cell yesterday evening, but it's definitely yet another downgrade from earlier rainfall predictions. At least the temperatures have cooled off nicely.

Somewhat rare for Phoenix, but tornadoes have occurred in certain situations, especially when warm moist air collies with cooler, drier air.

Down here in Tucson predictions were pretty spot on. 1.6” so far and more to come. 68F and cloudy right now. Amazing for September.

I was hoping to pick up some of the rain that we didn't get in the first pass of the storm today. But at this point, it looks like today's forecast was even more over-hyped and in error than Monday's.
