Interesting: my electric bill last month (for my first full month here) was also $133, but I have a 900sf apartment that faces east (with a couple of south-facing windows that are shaded by trees). I keep my thermostat at around 77/78 during the day, and raise it to 84 at night. I almost never use the ceiling fans, which are only in the bedroom and loft, anyway.

I do have a washer and dryer in the apartment, as well as a dishwasher, all of which get used a couple of times a week.

I'm with APS, which may or may not make a difference.

I have a 1000 sf condo w/vaulted ceilings - Elec in summer is $110/$120 and gas about $35 (gas runs washer and dryer and hot water heater). I use my micro more than I use my electric stove - don't know if that makes a difference or not. But, when you consider how much hotter the summer temperatures are in AZ compared to MI, it seems like AZ electricity is much cheaper than here in MI.

2,069 square feet, single story. Since running the air 24/7 our bill this month was 339 and some change. Set around 82. East/West. I think I will be looking for smaller space. Oh. We live like Moles too.

from michigan-- my winter bills get up to about 165 total (gas and electric) and in the summer its about 55-60... not sure what AZ will have in store for me. So would I save money with a north/south facing apartment in AZ?

What does you electric bill run per month? don't know, this was the first. $220
How many sq ft is your house? ~ 2000
what kind of exposure do you have (East/west or north/south)? House faces N/S
what temp do you set your thermostat at? 82 at night, 83 during day
do you have a pool? Yes, ~8K gallon. Pump runs 8 hrs during the night
is your house all electric or do you have natural gas as well? all elec.

Just moved here from Nebraska and was expecting the bill to be higher. However, when we got our water bill, our eye teeth just about fell out!!! 4K gallon of water cost $128!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In NE, my dad uses 16K gallon/day just for spraying agricultural crops, let alone the irrigation wells!!! That kind of water use here would......u get the point.

Goes to show, you can always run the generator longer, or install more, but you CAN'T generate more water, and the price shows!!

Are you sure that wasnt for water, sewer and trash for the month plus a deposit if that was your first bill? According to my bill, water costs about $2 per 1000 gallons plus the basic monthly fee of $23
