rockybird - Thank you for your response. Since they finally agreed to do a repair, we are putting our filing with ROC and BBB on hold at least for now.

azdr0710 - My husband did talk to a manager at the Scottsdale branch. He showed her a few photos of the paint job. The manager suggested this was normal and contractors usually left some paint for homeowners to do touchups themselves . Below is my post on the first page of this posting.

Quick Updates: My husband went to CostCo in Scottsdale today. A manager at CostCo told him that this was normal and we should be able to do touch ups ourselves!!! He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Do people here in AZ normally pay 5K for a paint job and start doing touch ups from day 1? These white patches are *all over* the wall around the house.

Can someone here confirm this?

Anyway, we called CostCo main office and they contacted CertaPro right away. Certa Pro will come out to our house on Wednesday.

As someone mentioned in this thread, we learned now to only trust CostCo on a box of apples... nothing more.

A quick note for anyone who's thinking of having their houses painted: When a contractor tells you that he uses top quality materials from Dunn-Edwards, you will have to ask them how many percent of the materials is actually "top quality".

Dunn Edwards has various qualities of paint from contractor grade $10.00 a gallon that is watered down to increase profits and lasts a few months up to the $45.00 gallon top quality paint that most homeowners buy and put 2 coats on which looks good for about 10 years in the AZ direct sun.

As a contractor myself, in looking at your pics, I would say that the under surface was dirty or dusty and would not hold the paint.

Back in the old days, a person bought a gallon of paint and painted the area of choice...everything is engineered now to make the job complicated and expensive...and to make it work, a person just follow the directions to have any chance of warrantee...and part of that might be the application by a traine professional...good luck..

Just to post a quick update and to close this thread.

CertaPro Scottsdale sent a new crew to do the repair work. It took them 2 full days just to power wash and hand scrape in order to completely remove the loose/peeling/bubble paint. This time we constantly stood by their sides to ensure the repair work was done to our satisfaction. We are happy with the repair work .
