I'm in my early 30's, getting married in September, and love to play golf and almost any outdoor activity.

Where should I live? I want to spend no more than 500k and would like to buy a house that could use some good restoration work. Where are the good "historic" homes in Scottsdale? I don't want a large yard, but would like one that has potential to be very relaxing.

Also, what gyms should I consider joining? I love to lift and would like one with younger members.

See this link for information about Scottsdale's historic neighborhoods:

Keep in mind that historic is a relative term. In the Phoenix Metro Area, housing is generally so new that houses from the '50s and '60s sometimes qualify as historic. Also, many of the historic neighborhoods are in the southern portion of Scottsdale, which gets bashed sometimes on this board. Southern Scottsdale is certainly not as upscale as the northern portion of the city, but for the most part it's a comfortable middle class area.

As for gyms, I have no advice to offer. My exercise is obtained on the hiking trails throughout the Phoenix Metro Area.
