That link was very helpful Shadow! Thanks to all though. I have heard so many conflicting stories, it's not funny. Personally, I love the heat and have my space heater cranking right now in Jersey! At work, they used to call my office "The Bat Cave" and my boss used to come in and say "you have a broken thermostat" because I LOVE the heat. I have even sat in dry heat saunas for 10-15 minutes without breaking a sweat! I have visited AZ but never in July and Aug but from the way some people talk, they make one scared to come out then as if it is unbearable. I think I'll be fine though! Thanks again to all!!!!

In other words, how long will it be before I need to get a car to get around because it's too hot to wait around for a bus to go to the store?

I've heard all kinds of stories and I want a straight answer (if there is one) about when the really hot weather begins.
It depends on what type of poster you listen to.

Phoenix bashers will claim the bad heat starts in early March and doesn't subside until early December.

Accurate posters will cliam the bad heat doesn't start until June and it won't end until late September.

I think you will find the heat, while not pleasant, is more "survivable" than you expect. It's just different than people from the east have experienced. The human body is well adapted for this kind of heat. The human mind maybe not so much.
