I'd like to thank everyone for voting on my photo. It is a bitter sweet win as I'm so financially destitute I'm having to sell all my DSLR equipment.

So on to March, it's an interesting month, there are sayings about March...The Ides of March, In like a Lion out like a Lamb (and some years it's the opposite), March winds and April showers Bring forth May flowers . There are also several noted days on the calendar, St. David's Day; a Welsh Saint, Ash Wednesday; the beginning of Lent and a movable feast, St. Patrick's Day; a celebration of the Irish people, Purim; a joyous Jewish holiday, The Vernal Equinox; another movable feast, and in modern times the beginning of Day Light Savings Time.

After a bit of research on these March events I would like to name the March Theme "New Beginnings".

Congratulations, ReturningWest

Maybe Desolate was a turn around of holiday joy? So this is a turn around of last months theme.

Actually I didn't base it on last months which was "Days gone by" not Desolate, I did a bit of google research on March and the notations on my calendar to dertermine the topic for this month's theme.

Thank you, I took it at my neighbors farm, they have a pre-civil war home with 1200 acres left of the family plantation and they have ton's of old equipment. They are the decendents of the original builders and their home is now in the National Historical Register. I'm lucky to have access to all their out buildings and equipment.

I actually live on 10 acres that was originally part of their place decades ago.
