They just stated it is not an introductory price (like the previous offer that was 9.99/month for the first year). This price is subject to price increases along with the the rest of their plans.

Again, when this stops making sense, it will be canceled. That's why I got CS6.

The way I see it is like this:
IF people don't want this, they don't need to buy it! Not buying a product, and boycotting the company may work, but it won't work with 2 people. You need a few millions, and all over the world too where apparently they charge even more for their software. If people don't subscribe, and they don't make the sales they hoped they will, then they will be like JC Penney, revert back to the model that made them sales. The "genius" who came up with this was only thinking about the top 5 Adobe execs. This applies to everyone else. Verizon is ripping us off every month...what they offer is not worth more than $20 per month. But again, if people continue to comply and don't cancel their accounts, the company continues to suck money out of our wallet.
This is a free country last time I checked, so I think the people should be free to not subscribe, and not pay into these ridiculous fees.

Just remember that "complacency" never leads to something good.

Well, here we are 4 years later, and it's still there.

I bought it for a year and thought it was worth it. Then I decided to buy Elements because I wasn't using Photoshop to it's full potential as much. I miss a few things, but I get get by.

I'd buy CC again if my work needed it.

A few more years later...

A description from Wikipedia at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Creative_Cloud
Adobe Creative Cloud is a set of applications and services from Adobe Systems that gives subscribers access to a collection of software used for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography, along with a set of mobile applications and also some optional cloud services. In Creative Cloud, a monthly or annual subscription service is delivered over the Internet. Software from Creative Cloud is downloaded from the Internet, installed directly on a local computer and used as long as the subscription remains valid. Online updates and multiple languages are included in the CC subscription. Creative Cloud was initially hosted on Amazon Web Services, but a new agreement with Microsoft has the software, beginning with the 2017 version, hosted on Microsoft Azure.

Previously, Adobe offered individual products as well as software suites containing several products (such as Adobe Creative Suite or Adobe eLearning Suite) with a perpetual software license.

Adobe first announced the Creative Cloud in October 2011. Another version of Adobe Creative Suite was released the following year. On May 6, 2013, Adobe announced that they would not release new versions of the Creative Suite and that future versions of its software would be available only through the Creative Cloud. The first new versions made only for the Creative Cloud were released on June 17, 2013.

I am just a hobbyist... So, I will not be using it.

i use it ...we had to as my older versions of lightroom and photoshop don't support the new cameras raw .. so pretty much we were forced to subscribe ... i am not a big photoshop user but i do use it . my biggie is lightroom which i use all the time .

there are lots of filters from lucis art , topaz and nik i use and i much rather put them on a layer in photoshop then just apply them through lightroom .

i can blend them with the original photo , i can keep the original colors so the filters don't change them , etc when applied via layers in photoshop

I don't like the subscription mode but I must admit the speed at which I can edit images that I take make it worth the ten bucks a month. The less flexible editing programs I've tried slow me down way to much when time is a pricy commodity.
