LOL! I didn't count Fatheads b/c they only have one other location, according to their website. I think it's fair to say there is a mixture of chains and locals.

Sad to say, there will be one less local family owned biz:

South Side hardware store ends 74-year run - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

I hate to see this happen, but small businesses are taking it on the chin as the big boxes keep taking over.

That too bad. I expect someone to try to open a bar/restaurant there. I also expect Bruce Krause to have a hissy fit about it because they will serve, GASP, alcohol!

If you don't support local businesses, they will go away. In ten years there will be one bank, one retail store, one Panera, one, ah whatever.

I'll be dead by then, buried in a Wal-Mart cemetery.

hopefully they'll be 'rollin back the prices' on headstones.... honestly though I agree. I pretty much frequent only locally owned businesses. Haven't been to a wal-mart in about 3 years

That's sad to hear about T&T. It depresses me that we in general in this country have gone away from the idea of shopping in our neighborhood's main commercial district.
