I too am confused about what advice you are seeking since you seem to already know what you want. So to answer your original question, 50k/year puts you in a middle class range for the area but for 3 adults and 3 children it is going to be quite rough if you are set on renting a 3-4 bedroom in Mt. Lebanon and seem uninterested in other more affordable options.

While I am not sure, I am guessing from the context of Denton's statement, GT stands for "Gifted and Talented."

Many of those things don't apply to almost everyone here posting in this thread too.

I can only speak for my township, schools, house, and utilities. And my household income is higher than 50k with less people.

It was frustrating to learn after-the-fact that you have your heart set on Mt. Lebo. Sort of felt like we wasted our time trying to help.

It would have been easier for us all to answer a thread titled "Can a family of 6 live on 50k in Mt. Lebanon."
