WEATHER ALERT... 2:18 EST National Weather Service, Pittsburgh, PA :::
Heavy Snow Squalls moving off Lake Erie and heading south will cause 'white out' conditions over the City OF Pittsburgh between 5:00 and 8:00 this eve. In addition, high winds gusting to over 40 mph will cause wind chills to dip. Special caution should be taken by hard line democrats with strict party line mentality. It is advised that such people stay in their cave and holes until this 'white out' moves south out of Pittsburgh City limits.

When are the final results announced?

Horne said she voted for Democratic Mayor Luke Ravenstahl despite his missteps since coming into office last year after the death of late Mayor Bob O'Connor. Republican challenger Mark DeSantis is trying to overcome generations of support for Democratic mayors in the city.

story continues below

"We should give (Ravenstahl) a chance," Horne said. "He has made some mistakes, but who hasn't?"
I seem to be seeing a lot of this already.

This is Pittsburgh. We haven't had a Republican Mayor in 39 years. Do any of you REALLY think that will change today? lol

From what I have read and heard, I am not too much in favor of Luke, but, It damn sure is good to be back to a SOLIDLY blue state!!!!

I agree with PApices. I work in Pittsburgh. My co-workers are all over 50 and they have the same dumb mindset. Like cattle going to slaughter. As soon as I walk in the door to work I feel like I am back in the 70s. They will only vote Democrat, it doesn't matter. They are too stupid to realize their city is dying. Now they are quoting this new Forbes article about how affordable Pittsburgh is. They believe that Pittsburgh is the "most livable" city in the US. If that is true, then why is there a Katrina-like population migration? It's pathetic.

As a small business owner in the city of Pittsburgh I'm very very worried about the businss climate and what looks to be continued lack of true game plan for lowering taxes, improving infrastructure, and creating a healthy environment a Denver, Twin City or even Columbus has. Pittsburgh appears to be on a continued path of decline. And what a shame that is given the great universities and non profit's that call Pittsburgh

Yeah...minus the fact that it is the solid-blue-state-mentality which is holding the region back: high taxes, high spending, anti-buisness, entitlement attitude, etc.
