True, they did win a conference championship 21 years ago.

I love pitt, I think that's pretty clear. If having pride in historical achievemento is being a yinzer, then yinzers have taken over every fan base of historically rich programs.

I would argue that since pitt is the only one attacked for being proud of history (and yes Erie boy we know the anonymous rep name calling is you) then there is a clear agenda by those doing it.

Marino played all 4 years at pitt in the 80's, yet certain people will tell me it doesn't matter because it was so long ago...while they wear their "6 rings" steelers tshirt with pride.

They will bring up Dorsett and say we used to have great players, ignoring the fact Pitt has had at least 1 pro bowler every single year since at least 1980, including 3 this year. Longest such streak going.

I can put an all star team that will stack up against any school out there with the only real competition being miami, fsu, and usc. (Espn actually did this with real numbers and on field results, no bias or perception, and pitt finished 3rd).

I'm not saying pitt is a top team now, but if you think a 2-6 big ten(widely regarded as the weakest power 5 this year) team is then you are clearly not arguing with an open mind.

If I didn't believe with the right leadership we could get back there, I would not follow the sport.

I welcome a diversity of opinions... even CTMountaineer's. No reason to shut out people who aren't Pitt fans.

I welcome diversity of opinions as well. However, Erie has consistently made it a point to belittle the program directly or in a passive aggressive way - the same way CT has done over the years. CT was in the Pittsburgh forum constantly to do so - that's part of the reason another thread topic was created.

Having varied, critical comments is something fans all share in and enjoy in conservation. This is different, even if after being called out, Erie pulls back a bit to give an illusion of contribution, he always reverts back to it. He's the reason why several comments were deleted and his private message trolling only confirms why he is here.

It seems some of you (well, one of you) wants to get this thread closed. ~70 deleted posts later, I have news for him: it won't happen,at least not because of your trolling. There will be punishment alright, but it will be directed at specific folks, those who troll and hijack threads, those who use strawman arguments all the time. You know who I'm talking about.
Now, back on topic folks Hopefully without all this silly fighting this time.
Yac.

ESPN had a Q&A with Narduzzi. These things can often be boiler plate stuff, but offers a chance beyond the press conference to hear his thoughts...

Q&A: Pitt Panthers coach Pat Narduzzi - ESPN

Well, that just confirms Pitt football's significance.

Pitt really blew the game today. Big set back to the program.

Letting UH have 2 on-side kicks, and UH went for 2 for the win and got it.
