Yesterday while driving home from work, I took a different way than I normally go at 4:30 PM. Normally I drive from Bridgeville (where I work) up 79 to 376 and into the city. Due to the Liberty Bridge traffic, I took Green Tree Road through Scott > GreenTree > City.

AT 4:30 PM I SAW A COYOTE (THE SIZE OF A GERMAN SHEPARD, MIND YOU) CROSS MCMONAGLE ROAD. I couldn't believe it. Was thinking this would make a great thread.

What is the wildest animal you've seen in certain levels of the area?

Yes. After close to 100 Pokeballs.

(People say that game is a waste of time, but I've taken so much grief for throwing rocks at real pigeons.)

I don't know what is considered "wildest" but I live in the city and we have bobcat roaming about. The scariest animal was the Turkeyneck vulture swooping down on road kill.

More topically, all I ever see for wild animals are deer, raccoon, and turkey. I've seen them all in the city and outside of it.

Possibly, it's because I don't walk very quietly.

The mammals I've seen have been pretty pedestrian overall. Tons of squirrels, groundhogs, and deer. I don't think I've seen a single raccoon or fox in Pittsburgh.

I have seen some interesting birds, though they're often from far away and hard to identify. The coolest was what appeared to be an all-white egret or heron of some sort. I've also seen longnose gar in the river just hanging out by Washington's Landing.

I saw a fox in Columbus. It's the only wild fox I've ever seen. It was dumpster diving.

The only wild fox I ever saw was eating garbage in the U.K. Which makes perfect sense, because they don't have raccoons and opossums to compete with there.
