I’ve been in a Target twice. Once was in East Liberty. That was more than enough for me.

I definitely remember Murphy’s Mart. I don’t remember McCrory’s.

The only reason I went to Target for a second time is because we were getting something for someone at Shadyside Hospital. Also hope it’s the last time I have to go to East Liberty.

You could get Lee or Wrangler jeans for cheaper in McCrory's. but they didn't have the less harsh lighting of Murphy's. it was basically like an outlet store, always the older version of everything.

Did Murphy’s eventually become Ames?

Pretty sure most of them became Ames, and then Ames went out of business soon after.

Well McCrory's was the place not to be seen. I didn't reallly know that as a young kid, but kinda had a sense of it. was pretty much a whole store of bargain basement, I think. although they may have had an upper floor with better stuff but I was not allowed to be a customer up there.

Murphy's Mart became Ames. I don't know if it was connected to GC Murphy's however. I do remember Murphy's Mart in Harmerville becoming an Ames. Geez, we are showing our age here guys.
