I have noted during some recent visits to the Mid and South Mon Valley that my condition was better than where I live at present. Phlegm in my throat vanished and I had a little less sinus congestion.

I will look at these links today.
US Steel has a big coke plant in Clairton.

Have you been to OTR (Over the Rhine)? This area reminds me of the East End of Pittsburgh and Mount Adams is definitely like Duquesne Heights with a better music scene. Cincinnati is definitely different than Pittsburgh, but there are several similarities. As a whole though I do feel Pittsburgh is more progressive than Cincinnati and this is especially evident if you spend any time in the Kentucky suburbs. With that being said, the nightlife in Newport is pretty fun and I love walking across the bridge at night it is very pretty.

I grew up in Cincinnati, (and I was just there for the Holidays,) so I'm pretty used to translating Pittsburgh to Cincinnati. OTR isn't large enough to be like the entire East end of Pittsburgh. I usually compare it to Lawrenceville--an area that 10 years ago was considered run-down if not dangerous, and now is being rapidly gentrified.

This is a very fair comparison and I agree that OTR would be more a mini East End as it is definitely not as big as all of the East End neighborhoods combined. I also like your comparison with Lawrenceville.
