When is the salary of the Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) going to be adjusted according to the district enrollment? With the declining trend in PPS enrollment, in a few years it will no longer be the second largest district in the state. There are three districts (Reading, Central Bucks, and Allentown that could soon pass up PPS in enrollment.

Wouldn’t count on that, but enrollment will continue to drop. The effects of shutting it down are huge, and more folks will go to online schooling. https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2021...a-mask-debate/

Don't be so quick to discount it. From https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2021...irus-pandemic/

But the loss of students kicked into overdrive during the pandemic. In the early months of the coronavirus pandemic, state education department figures show enrollment dropped by 1,200 students from 22,600 to 21,400.

By spring, the exodus picked up steam. The district released the number of students returning to the classroom and those remaining remote. KDKA tallied those numbers with the district’s pre-K students and found enrollment dropped another 2,500 students to an alarming 18,900 students.
These were the 2020-2021 enrollment numbers from the State Dept of Education:

Pittsburgh SD: 21,407
Reading SD: 17,659
Central Bucks SD: 17,571
Allentown City SD: 16,231
Bethlehem Area SD: 13,005
Downingtown Area SD: 12,909
North Penn SD: 12,603

Some of these districts are growing so fast that they are building new elementary and high schools. It would be interesting to look at some comparison stats like superintendent salaries, student/teacher ratios, and cost per student.

Yet Pittsburgh has dropped, and certainly can’t blame parents for pulling their kids out of PPS.

Playing the victim as he lied and got caught.
https://www.post-gazette.com/opinion...s/202109020034

“Mr. Hamlet and his attorney defended his actions, saying he hadn’t been found to have committed any intentional wrongdoing. In fact, Mr. Hamlet painted himself as a victim in the inquiry, calling the investigation “a cloud over my head, a heavy burden on my shoulders — even though I know I have done nothing wrong.”

“But he did. And the panel said so.“

I don't think lying matters much to the left that voted him in. He knows he can do as he pleases. He is privileged and entitled as most in his set are as we see in every city. Someday we will learn and go back to normal. Let's hope. I think our country has had about enough of this entitlement.
