I heard there are more camps popping up all over the city. I don't get around to all the different neighborhoods like I used to. What camps have you seen?
I know of a few in the Northside and along the river trails.
Medics and police are called to the Gaineyvilles very frequently.
What is the current administration doing to help these folks?

Honestly, my impression is Gainey is way more concerned about the homeless issue than Peduto was. Which makes sense, because he seems to be much more of a "brass tacks" kinda politician who cares about constituent services.

I have yet to see proof. I run the trails and roads of the city daily. All over, and I don't recall any if maybe only 1-2 homeless (druggie) tents anywhere along the rivers during the Peduto Administration. Not blaming Gainey, but the tent towns are way way out of control over the last year or so. Worst situation is by the scene of the recent double murder on the Northside by the Giant Eagle. Second worst is near the Rivers Casino along the trail. Third worst is near the Heinz plant along the trail.

There's a ton less of them Downtown than I remember back in 2021. I think maybe he had the police evict them from openly camping in empty storefronts and the like.

The new shelter is going to be finished in a few months, which will help somewhat.
