Has anyone ever been to Ligonier Beach? It is the largest pool in PA, and looks like a real throwback to days gone by.

Wow. Blast from the past. Haven't been there since I was, maybe 10 at the oldest, but yeah, that was big Saturday roadtrip for my family back in the 70s. My parents had gone there in 40s and 50s when they were younger. I didn't realize it was still open.

It is in Ligonier, PA, which is about an hour East of the city. Here is a short PBS documentary about it:

YouTube - Things That Are Still Here: Ligonier Beach

It probably isn't as cool as it once was, but it looks like it might be worth checking out. Here is their offical website: Ligonier Beach

Here's a question. What's a popular get away that people in Pittsburgh travel to in order to take a break from the city? I've heard Seven Springs thrown around before or is that just for winter?

Seven Springs is a four-seasons resort, obviously skiing is the biggest thing but there are a lot of things to do there. Check out their website, they have a whole summer section.

The Laurel Highlands in general is a big getaway area. In addition to Seven Springs you have Idlewilde, Nemacolin, Ohiopyle, Fallingwater, Laurel Caverns, and so forth.
