Oil can be cleaned up. Building huge artificial islands that change tidal flow patterns that are the center of the bayou ecosystem, last a lot longer.
Did those artificial islands that were built in Dubai that are much, much larger than these berms would have been, cause problems there? I haven't heard anything about it, have you? So if nothing happened there where those things are PERMANENT, then nothing would have happened here since they would have slowly went away, they are not permanent.
