The berms was a GREAT idea ... unfortunately it did not get implemented fast enough (the Federal Government's fault)... these berms are TEMPORARY as in they don't last long so the environmental impact would of been incredibly small... if only Jindal had been able to create them sooner and without so much interference from the Federal Government, the results would of been better... so the OP's post with the moronic guy who doesn't seem to understand that the berms have already started eroding away already and wouldn't even last next year doesn't even add up on face value... the oil in there now is a direct consequence of the Federal Government stupidity and stalling, it would've been saved if Jindal was able to act sooner... and that is the most important thing, SAVING it.....
That was pretty much useless. All it mostly talked about was how they buried some reefs when they were building and how some of the sediment is affecting those same reefs. It is common sense that some things would have been buried with such a huge project. That wasn't caused AFTER they were built, it was DURING it for the most part. In LA there are no reefs to worry about. Oil covering the bottom and laying in the marshes is way worse than sand. As far as affecting natural currents, it would only be temporary. See life has this awesome ability to ADAPT to changes. Building berms would not make anything go extinct, they wouldn't be there long enough. I do believe however that there might be problems that will get worse in Dubai in the long run because those islands are permanent.
I dunno, why don't you ask him how he is going to recover all that heavy equipment
that's under water due to the berms washing away?
Well I suppose doing nothing at all was the better choice at least that is what Obama chose to do. Far easier to do nothing and claim a hypothetical success than to do something to try to stop the bleeding. Your administration is all smoke and mirrors. The heavy equipment is the least of the problems. Seriously do you think we cant bring heavy equipement up? You are another example of hand wringing weepy souls that see this country as the country of No WE CANT> Cleaning up the oil is the next hurdle. I like Jindal
