If your assertion is "because the founding fathers were Christian, then we are a Christian nation", then by the same tone, we must believe that slavery is a Christian value, because most of the same founding fathers who were christians owned slaves, and made it legal in the Constitution.

For many, church was simply something you were supposed to do to keep airs up in the community, which still happens today. My grandmother attended a Christian church for nearly 3 years because that was the only way she could keep 'friends' in our community. Now, she's a VERY happy Pagan with tons of friends and has stayed true to herself.

BTW, most of the "Sharia" law everyone seems to be so scared of, was based off of the same Jewish laws that you're claiming are Christian.

Do you realize that Sharia is a part of Muslim thought? For some reason Islam tends to be both religious and political and I don't like the parts about killing infidels that won't convert and making sure that those who convert live out the remainder of their lives in dhimmitude.
