Most of the time, WW2 excepted, the United States has entered foreign countries to protect the power and assets of the indigenous or international elites from interference by a populous government. We usually call the undesired government communist so we can justify the invasion to our own people. This has been going on for over 200 years so it is a deep rooted American tradition to destroy any government that interferes with American or other first world investors.

The truth is not going to be found at either extreme. It's somewhere in the middle. The United States wants to be a peacekeeper, and generally has good intentions. But sometimes things don't work out the way we as a nation would like. (Sometimes we as a nation also forget that we can't actually make the rest of the world live up to our ideals).

The United States military is nothing more than a corporate security force.

I would hope so. I would never support our government otherwise. US power must be maintained at all costs. Any country that is a threat must be eliminated.

The US if I'm not mistaken, gives and supports impovershed nations more than anyother country in the World. If I am incorrect, please someone let me know. I love my country and have fought to uphold it's ideals, the good and the bad. I was sent under Clinton to Kosovo and then to the Gulf region under Bush. I think America provides the greatest freedoms in the world and for that, I am thankful.

We all know that the United States, along with Israel, are two of of the most (perhaps THE most) belligerent and warmongering nations on earth.

If you think the world loves America, wake up. Why should anyone like a country like this one?

Perhaps because of the promise this country holds, but surely not because of its actions.

I'm glad people like you are not in power. If you were, the USA probably would have surrendered to the British during the Revolution or the Mexicans in the Mexican American War.
