In other words, suffering from a severe case of the sour grapes because a Democrat is successfully digging this country out of the Dubya Dark Ages, bigoted americans have renewed their efforts to shove Bush policies down our throats. These policies, which include the ridiculous notions of "trickle-down", deregulation, and small government, led to the worst economic mess since the Great Depression. These Republican polices created a CRISIS in every domestic category across the board. These Republican policies thought it OK to LIE to Congress to gain congressional approval to head to the Middle East to fight smoke with bullets. This mindset thought it perfectly fine to LIE to the american people about the progress of that war, then lie that Bush should be reelected so they could "finish the job." These policies thought it perfectly fine to spend a TRILLION DOLLARS to lose an ideological war to a militarily inferior opponent. The Republican policies, the ones that bigoted regressives are "waking up" to now created the housing and mortgage crisis, among others.
These regressives who are suddenly "waking up" were silent while their leader Bush was wrecking this country. Republicans ignored every domestic issue to focus on nation-building and "spreading Democracy around the world." These people who are suddenly "waking up", followed a man who thought "dreams take wing" for God's sake. Incredible lunacy.
Even the jargon used here reeks of Klan-speak..."Americans are reclaiming their birthright"??? Unbelievable here in the 21st century. This country does not favor a resurgence of such Klan-like thinking.

In reality, humans are guaranteed ZERO "Rights". Neither Civil Rights, Natural Rights, Human Rights, Constitutional Rights, or otherwise.
We keep (and deserve) only those we monitor, protect, defend, and are willing to fight for.
The persecuted, deprived, denigrated mass of humanity across the Globe, MUST confront and hold accountable their venal Leaders and oppressors.

Some conservatives seem to want to measure freedom on the basis of how much the taxes are, the higher the taxes, the less freedom. But if we abolished taxes, we would still be shelling out money, this time to the private enterprises that replaced government tax supported services. And constantly being bombarded by requests from private charities to help them help the poor.
I think I made the point that Obama has continued and accelerated a 100-year-old movement that denies American rights and individual responsibility.
The difference between government taxation and private charity or purchasing services in the free market is that charites or businesses do not hold a gun to your head (figuratively) to extract your hard-earned dollars. You can give or not give, buy or not buy. That's freedom.
Your conclusions are distorted by the warped lens of biased self interest. I see the situation totally different. I see just the opposite of your vision. I see a faction in this country that has always existed and has it's foundations in fascism. They wrap themselves in the flag, spout individual freedoms and base their attacks on their interpretations of what the constitution means. They use the current national problems as a lightning rod to promote fear, hate and discord. They claim the other side of the political coin are enemies of the state and ultimately should be eliminated by whatever means necessary. They make war on the disadvantaged, poor, minorities and newly dispossessed. They hide behind the veil of patriotism while using the frustrated, angry masses to handcuff the workings of government at every turn. They are ready to pick up the peices of their deliberate discord and institute a draconian form of rule that would lock the country into one ideology, one form of social mores and one form of religion. All other ideas and lifestyles are heretical abominations to be eliminated. They are the biggest threat to America that exist today.
I suugest that because you misunderstand the nature of fascism you attribute to those of us longing for a return to individual liberty the very agenda of the partisan divide to which you belong. In your apologia for government you reveal yourself to be the statists that are the real danger to our republic. You want more government; we want limited government, as the Constitution intended. The Founding Fathers, having lived under unlimited government in the form of the monarchy, but recognizing the need for government nevertheless, devised a form of government never seen before where the people were the source of government power and government power was severely circumscribed by federalism and separation of powers so as to ensure maximum personal liberty consistent with good order. Statists have focused on the "good order" part of the formulation while paying lip service to liberty. That's fascism.

We seem to have lost the will as a country to reject career politicians who do little more than dole out our own money ... on pet projects that benefit their own desire for re-election (among local constituents) --- instead of looking-out for the welfare of our nation.

Your history is flat out wrong, probably because you depend on "historian" Michael Moore for your facts.
