Don't settle. If the same tired old faces are presented to you in polls/surveys, pick OTHER. My inclination is, if Bill Kristol or Fred Barnes favors a particular candidate, or some old retired Republican comes out of the woodwork to bless some candidate, run away. They are an inside the beltway part of the machine and don't have our best interests at heart.

Tell that to the TPers and the GOP. Have you read Sarah Palin's open letter to the incoming congressional Freshmen? It's GWB's administration all over again. They're trying to rehabilitate GWB to run Jeb Bush, I think. I'm not voting for another Bush for as long as I live.

The neocons are running the GOP. The TP was used and confused and they will be used again and again.

Same crap, different day.

Actually, they do. Read "Reality Show" by Howard Kurtz. ABC, NBC and CBS have 20 something minutes during their half hour national nightly news programs and it has been determined that they can only devote time to two candidates. So, as Kurtz says, they winnow down the field for us by deciding who merits their time and starving the other candidates from any media attention. It's pretty disgusting, in my opinion.

Why don't the Republicans just run Karl Rove or one of the Coors family or some other moneyman? Because they can't get anyone of the real party leaders to take a pay cut. These guys are not the Have Mores they are the Have Nearly Everything’s.

The list will change over and over.

The GOP is full of rising young stars and the list will be totally different in time.

Since no one has announced the media on both sides at just tossing darts right now.

I believe that the media, including Obamas MSNBC are tossing names because they know any viable candidate would defeat Obama if the election were held today.

Then comes the gift Obama ---

The gift of Obama turns out to be a plus for America as he will end liberals running things in America because of his massive failures and mistakes. Hence the recent election was a HELL NO to Obama's running of things.

The end of liberalism in near in America.

That's funny. I heard the exact same thing about conservatism and the GOP just 2 years ago.

The tea party was supposed to be a revolution that takes on the establishment but so far I see no signs of that being true. The {R}s elected the Boner to be the speaker and he went unchallenged. Are the tea drinkers trying to tell us that the Boner is not part of the establishment?
How could they be a revolution and not challenge a lousy conservative and a bag man for the banksters? Which leaves the tea drinkers with 2 choices:
they knew the neo cons were running the show and they were alright with that, or they are just plain ra - tarded.

It's neither of those; it's just plain political innocence.

Most of the original Tea Partiers had never been actively involved in politics before and didn't understand how the game is actually played.

They're learning AAAALLLLL about it now though, as their naieve dreams are snatched right out of their hands by old-time political operatives with long experience and friends with deep pockets.

I think that is a good possibility that you are right, I do recall that the Boner was picking up campaign contributions to run for speaker. What did he do with the money? could it be that he spread it around to other reps showing them that there is more largesse coming their way if he is elected speaker?
And maybe the tea party reps saw that the fight was already rigged and did not want to waste energy in a losing battle.
