This was a good move for TLC.
Sarah always brings the ratings. Even the people that hate her watched. And I'm sure they watched for longer than they said they did.
It was due more to camera angle to create the dramatic effect of "danger." There were a couple of shots from a different angle and they had to be at least 50' away. If there was any danger, Todd would have been paying attention to the bear as he pulled the anchor up. Also, they were anchored in 20-30' of water and the bear was standing in the shallows. In any case, they were far enough away that the bear paid no attention to them. Not once did you see the bear eyeing them and they would have shown it for the dramatic effect.
Did you see the photo Metla posted above, the bear certainly was eying them.
Some of us don't need to depend on Sarah Palin's reality show to understand how beautiful our state is
When you get your own show about Alaska, I will watch. Right now, I watch all shows on Alaska. No one said that they needed Sarah to tell us how beautiful Alaska is.

I have no aspirations concerning reality television. But I hope you are able to visit sometime and see if for yourself
My comment was in response to this, by the way:

So, all of you libs are saying you checked it out and none of you have anything to say about the beauty that is Alaska and how Palin showcased it?
She could have been shooting her show from Fairyland with unicorns who eat rainbows and I still wouldn't have watched...
The unicorns and rainbows might draw my attention!
