If you are like myself and others about to loose their extended benefits, I urge you to speak out. Contact you state representatives, senators, governors and even the president. I did. Let them know the jobs have not been created and we still need help. Call'em. Email'em. Pester the He** out of them so they know there are a lot of us and we still need help.
Thank you for your support,
Randy
The people who really need to speak out are people in red states. It is the representatives and senators from those states that are blocking any extensions. Unfortunately, it is also the people in those states that were duped into voting these lawmakers in....
Red, Blue, neither seem to do what they say they will do or just do the right thing. That's why it is so important to become a squeaky wheel. Become a pest and a nuisance until things get fixed.
If that doesn't work start a Revolution.
We need Unemployment continued until the jobs come back.

But...but...what about cutting government spending? What about the deficit? What about eliminating government programs and letting people solve their own problems?
Sounds like grand ideas until it hits home, doesn't it?
I hope the Republican and business dominated government removes all social and subsudy spending after 2012. After four years of that even the RED states will vote for Democrats forever.
"To fully understand unemployment, we must consider the causes of recorded long-term unemployment. Empirical evidence shows that two causes are welfare payments and unemployment insurance. These government assistance programs contribute to long-term unemployment in two ways."
Forgive me for trying to survive in bad economic times created by unscrupulous greedy people. I would like nothing more than to have my job of 16 years back and stand on my own two feet. I have worked over 30 years and drawn unemployment twice. The recession in the early 80's and now. Unemployment Benefits are a useful tool for hard working Americans that because of no fault of there own are out of work. I will be the first to admit the system is abused. I just want to use it for what it was set up for. So until the jobs come back I will fight for my rights.

The jobs are not going to come back. Do you think that companies offshored temporarily ?
The US is transitioning and people who lost their jobs need to transition as well.
As you have noticed each extension gets harder and harder to pass in Congress. The spending has finally caught up with them.
More than likely it will be extended another 3 months..you really need to take that three months and find a new niche for yourself.
You cannot wait for the government to bring back your job. That is not going to happen.
There are plenty of jobs available out there. Just not at the pay, unemployment benefits pay.
