Benjamin Franklin Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one. Even though this was written long ago in a far away place called Free America, and technology has changed immensely....the principle remains as valid as ever.

Nice. I watched all of the videos. There will be no law suit. But there will be a new TSA training video.

Whenever I step into an airport I get angry.... its weird, nothing has happened but I get angry... I guess the stupid security rules, delayed and cancelled flights, and unsympathetic staff with ridiculous lies has "conditioned" me through the years to be angry when inside an airport... I have no sympathy for airlines, if they all fail, all the better... the only exception is Southwest airlines... I feel pretty good when I fly on that airline... however the security point is retarded and is truly an inefficient way to handle things... but then "efficiency" isn't what the government is known for... neither is being smart...

What we have here is an anti-terrorism industry with the TSA and its $7 billion budget at the centre. In order to keep the money coming they have to maintain a state of fear and keep coming up with new ways to spend the money. This is not about security, it is about money and that leads us to powerful vested interests. It really is that simple.

Now, I have said on other threads that as a fairly frequent flyer, I have never found the TSA security checks to be overly bothersome. But that does not mean that I do not recognize what is going on for what it is. All this extra equipment and extra pat-downs will not enhance security.

get an instrument rating and you can fly from a commercial airport as well without issues, and without having to go through security.

Don't get so comfy that you think the TSA is on top of things.
The screenings are REACTIVE, not PROACTIVE.
Each new rule has been put in place because someone got on board a plane.
Once caught..THEN they do the additional screening.

"Toner cartridge of death"...that was their latest attempt.

Now we wait and see how the TSA will deal with that at checkpoint charlie.

I think that we have become a nation of sheeple who never argue or protest when our rights are being trampled upon by an increasingly obtrusive Federal government. If they do this to me, I will protest loudly and defend my right to be free of harassment as a citizen of this pitiful country. Would any of you do the same or join in some sort of protest against this treatment?
The government is doing this because people ask for it. They give up liberty for security. A maximum security is the ultimate goal. For those who have forgotten, a maximum security facility is another name for a prison.

Dial 1-800-cry-baby.

Air travel is aboard privately owned airplaned, owned by private companies. If they wish to full body scan you before letting you fly on their plane, it's their perogative. If you don't want to, get on a different provately owned aircraft that does things differently or drive, or take a train. It's not PUBLIC transportation, it's PRIVATEly owned and operated.

Yeah, it's not complicated. It's WRONG.

This is the airport and it's the DHS that's doing it..government.
It's not the airline companies..ok ?

The TSA is part of the DHS.

And BTW..the Federal Marshalls have just been sued for saving off tens of thousands of images from these body scanners that supposedly cannot save images..imagine that ? These same body scanners are now in the airports. And meanwhile some countries around the world are opting OUT for both privacy and medical concerns.

Feds admit storing checkpoint body scan images | Privacy Inc. - CNET News
William Bordley, an associate general counsel with the Marshals Service, acknowledged in the letter that "approximately 35,314 images...have been stored on the Brijot Gen2 machine" used in the Orlando, Fla. federal courthouse. In addition, Bordley wrote, a Millivision machine was tested in the Washington, D.C. federal courthouse but it was sent back to the manufacturer, which now apparently possesses the image database.
