Merry Giftmas to all, and to all a happy holiday season!

Or Merry Yule
Or Happy Solstice
Or Happy Chanukah
Or whatever you celebrate. It's not for me to say, and whatever holiday you celebrate at this time of year is not going to upset me. I don't understand why it upsets you.

I like Christmas because I get to tell my kids all the holiday fantasy about red-nosed reindeer, talking snowman, and magic babies born in mangers.

OK, here's my traditional yearly Unanswered Question:

Could those of you who believe there is a War on Christmas please post a list of what you have had to give up because of the FakeWar???

Can ya go to church?

Can ya overspend?

Can ya eat until your guts ache?

Can ya watch that Religious football 'til your eyes fall out?

Can ya cook and clean and entertain your way to exhaustion?

Can ya put up plastic lighted crap on your property?

OK, if ya can, then you have your CHRISTMAS.

Happy Holidays!!!

I'm not Christian; I'm Irish pagan. But I know that in this country and Europe Christmas is the ultimate holiday. It's right after the solstice and heralds the new summer to come. The Romans celebrated Sol Invictus, the feast of the unconquered sun. Christmas in our society combines it all. I hate seeing Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings, or hearing talk of winter holidays; it's Christmas; and I say Merry Christmas and like to hear it from the cashier at any store. I'll do my best to shop at stores whose owners aren't afraid to use the word.

Honestly I repeat whatever is said to me. If someone says "Merry Christmas" I repeat the same, if I'm told "Happy Holidays" I say the same, etc. Christmas is not a religious holiday anymore, at least not in America. I bet well over half of the Christians in this nation couldn't even identify the supposed "true" origins of Christmas (the Biblical account) and far less could identify the true origins of Christmas. (the pagan origins)
