WHAT have you lost from Christmas?

WHAT?

STATE what you don't have any more.

Cookies?

Gifts?

A pretty tree?

Hangover?

Exhaustion?

Stress?

WHAT????
What I've lost? I'll tell you the peace of mind that people in this country were basically good and even if they didn't practice Christianity or celebrate Christmas would leave the people who wanted to ALONE. It's about more than just a greeting I'm argueing over, it's about having one more thing about my home changed to "benefit" a small group of loud people who seem to think anything Christian or patriotic is just awful. They're also the same group of hypocrits who hoop and hollar everytime a Christian gets caught doing something they shouldn't. There the first ones to scream "isn't this suppost to be a Christian nation" when they us to pay for something like haiti or when they want us to support some new rights law, but then throw a fit over a cross at a memorial, a copy of the 10 Commandments in a court house, In God We Trust on our currency. In short We're not giving in anymore.

Sorry, but it does
Maybe you need to read the bible more

No one is trying to erase your Christmas. It is the most celebrated holiday in the US. The gift of Christ was his
wisdom. Defend what you hold dear, by setting an
example: one of peace, tolerance, and humility:

Luke 6.27 - ...
"to love their enemies, to do good to those who hate them, to bless those who hurt them, and to pray for those who abuse them"

Peter 3:15
"But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect"

Philippians 2:3
Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves.

I can say Merry Christmas to YOU
Can you say Merry Winter Solstice or
Happy Hanauka, or
Merry Eid al-Adha

That's why they started Happy Holidays etc.
Out of respect for whatever anyone believes,
or not. There's nothing more American than that

It's Holidays to me right now, a month before, since I'm still eating turkey, Christmas runs into New Years, and I know a lot of Jewish people and we just tend to lump the next 30-40 days together. Say whatever you want to whoever you want, it's no skin off my nose. It's Christmas on Dec 25 though

If you make a deal out of it then you have a personal problem. I'm just saying.

I CAN say all those things, miss. And I know I don't live up to my faith, it is something I am ashamed to say. However, I can see all that good in the world being slowly but surely wiped away and banished in my country, first Merry Christmas, a cross or ten at memorials for the war veterans then the Bible itself. I know they'll say I'm full of it, it'll never happen. But I've always been told never say never. Btw Merry Christmas to you too!

In all the diatribe, there is the valuable but also very subjective phrase "peace of mind". So many of us try to hang onto it, though can be ever elusive at times. I had Thanksgiving with a group of friends (EVERY one very liberal), good, kind, loving people. We had a great time! And respected each other enough to steer away from any volatile issues that might spoil a holiday that held much meaning to all of us. Not everyone holds the same "values", some take theirs more to heart and very personally. But when you sense someone does not share them, then is just the better part of wisdom to look for other common ground...it is always there. Having the desire and the caring to find it is not always present though, sadly.

I am a church-going Christian. I elect NOT to celebrate Christmas, because of the rampant commercialism of the holiday, its pagan roots and the fact that Jesus was not born on December 25th. However, I choose not to judge those who do celebrate it, and I have no problem with someone saying "Merry Christmas."

Oh good god you've lost your peace of mind! Now that's a good basis for legislation in this nation. No one's changing anything "in your home." No one wants to change anything! No one but loud mouth Christians with a persecution complex the size of the Eiffel Tower care about this issue. This issue is STUPID.

This isn't supposed to be a Christian nation, never was. That's not something you'll hear on Faux News though. I don't care about a cross at a memorial or on you're house or on Calvary Hill. What I want is loud mouth right wing Christian bigots to stop shoving their religion down my throat and then crying persecution if I tell them to eff off. What I want is right wing religious nut jobs to stop legislating their morality and trying to be my dad.

Me and my family don't currently attend any church, but we know what the season is about. It's still CHRISTmas to us. I cannot stand season's greetings or happy holiday's. IT'S CHRISTMAS!!! I am so sick and tired of the minority in this country trying to change everything. For the people who don't celebrate Christmas...lock yourselves in the house until December 26th.
Most retailers are saying Merry Christmas...many more than just a few years ago. Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings, Happy Holidays all mean the same thing. After all, Halloween to New Years is called the "Holiday season" because there are so many holidays celebrated during that time. I don't know why the far right makes such an issue out of this every year..its a non issue.

The real "war on Christmas" that really IS a threat is the fact that the Christmas season has been moved up from Black Friday to well before Halloween (the malls in my area were decorated for Christmas on October 20th). This cheapens the meaning of the season to a point that its actually relieving when the holidays are over.

Does every calendar say Dec. 25th is Christmas or does it say something else?

Ugh, I used to hate working customer service this time of year. No matter what I said to people, at least one person got mad at me on a daily basis.
