More whining and cry-baby antics from McConnell and the right, how unexpected
Democrats still have the senate, the filibuster, and the veto. The right can act like little children all they want, the left are still running the show
Yea I never saw this coming. It's ironic that McConnell claims the "will of the people." The majority don't think that tax cuts should be extended for the top tier. Lets not even get started in on the backwards message of addressing the deficit while continuing to cut revenue. The GOP zealots will swallow anything it seems, don't ask don't tell I guess.
Dont' spend money when you can't match with revenue. If revenue is cut than stop spending, if people want to spend than increase revenue.
Paying down the debt is a combination of the two.
Services should not be paid for off the backs of one group, all who get a benefit should be contributing something for their services recieved.
I prefer Gridlock to what has been happening the last 2 yrs. I think it is always in the interest of the coutry to have a balance of power, with one group contolling Congress (or Branches) and the other the WH.

$700 Billion dollars is not current revenue that the Govt has?
It is new revenue they want to gain?
The group you are talking about pays a greater % in taxes and total tax amount already. Why do they get to pay for others free ride?
What about the 2 Trillion we will spend to give tax extensions to the middle class? How can we spend that given your reason?
Kinda like when the Dems were bullied, cajored, and lied to by Bush when Repugs have control of both houses and the WH.

1) The deficits in 2007 was around $150B a year.. Even if you added in the Bush tax cuts, which, questionably were $70B, this would have equaled $220B a year.. But spending skyrocketed..
Even if you added in the $70B a year, you wouldnt come close to amount of spending which has climbed
2) The 2003 tax cuts INCREASED revenue. It DOUBLED capital gains taxes. It increased employment, wage tax revenues, among consumption tax revenues etc
