Majority? Do you realize that 1/6 of the world's population is Muslim? If the majority of the those Muslims "hated our freaking guts", we'd be in real trouble. As it is, a MINORITY of Muslims are enemies of the United States, and that's problematic enough. We don't need to be creating new enemies.

There are 1.57 billion Muslims, 6 million of them living in the US. They make up a full 2% of the population. If "most Muslims" indeed hated America, you'd see a ****load more incidents then the 10 or so a year we get here.

America doesn't even punish the terrorists on its own soil. We can ignore domestic terrorism just fine.
And the word "small" doesn't begin to do the percentage justice.
Of course, this is clearly untrue. Billions of Muslims live peacefully in countries that are not ruled by theocracies. All religious zealots, Muslim, Christian, or any other group, would like to impose their beliefs and values on the general population they live within, but that doesn't happen. Even in theocracies, such as Iran, there are religious zealots who don't believe the government goes far enough.
The person you were replying to said that there was no seperation of politics and religion with Islam. He is correct. Islam is a totality: a religious system, a political system, an economic system, .. everything. When you talk about "Billions (I think you meant millions since there are, at MOST, 1.5 Billion Muslims in the world) of Muslims live peacefully..." that does not change the fact that politics, economics, and the part we would call religion are all considered inseperable in Islam. Go and tell a Muslim scholor that Islam can exist as a religion without any political element and he will tell you that you are completely wrong. It would be like telling a rabbi that the last 4 of the 10 commandments could be seperated from the others. It just can't happen and still call it the same religion.
The reason many millions of Muslims are not waging jihad against the US and hte West has nothing to do with the religious elements somehow being seperate from teh political elements (a Western concept). It has to do with the fact that religious devotion varies between individuals in Islam, as it does in every ideology. We should be greatful for that but even if 98% of Muslims don't participate in jihad we are not doing ourselves any favors by making excuses for the remaining 2% that do. Remember 2% of 1.5 billion is still 30 million. That's a lot of jihadis.
FYI all of Germany were not Nazi's either. All the Japanese did not want Pearl Harbor to happen. All NAtive Americans were not savages.
