assault refers to an act that causes another to apprehend an immediate harmful contact, whereas the actual contact itself is called "battery

partisan BS aside if it happened to you, would you want charges pressed? What if it happened to one of your loved ones?

"looney toons" did shove a sign in the car, intentional or not, maybe she should have to face charges as well, however she was no threat to Rand Paul, unless you consider a possible paper cut a threat.

Putting a boot on her shoulder and then it slipping (or whatever excuse of Rush Limbaugh's that you want to repeat) could have caused her serious irreperable bodily harm if not death.

Maybe you need to watch what they did again.

I see shoe on shoulder then the heel coming down on head. So whats your conservative sheeple line? Not too mention 2 guys trying to wrestle her down to the ground while she's trying to get away. What do you want to call that??

Are vigilantes legal?

Whether he stomped her head or her shoulder, he is plainly a coward & anyone who agrees that what he did is justified, is an idiot.
No one should agree with any kind of physical violence in the streets like this.

Who are the vigilantes in this story? Is it the three or four men who took the law into their own hands and grabbed her, throw her to the ground and stomped on her head? All the while none of them are licensed security or police. Or was it the girl/woman who wanted to get a picture taken with Rand for a film/project she was working on? HHMM touch choice

Any seeing human being knows that, it's only the RWNJ fools who won't acknowledge it.
Btw the heel came down on her head with FORCE behind it.

Who is kidding who here.

Left wing anti American nuts of course trying to protect one of their own who is a known criminal.

Go ahead lefties protect the trouble makers on your side.

No wonder liberalism is dying in America. Always on the wrong side of right.
Her history has nothing to do with this case unless the defense can provide some rationale as to why its relevant and the judge accepts that rationale under prior law and legal precedent.

In terms of this incident this woman did not physically accost this man or do anything provocative to him that would cause him to defend himself. She had no weapon. He clearly was the aggressor in this incident.

Nice spin, but "her" political views is what caused her to have such a long criminal record at age 23.
Her criminal record has nothing to do with the fact she was restrained, push to the ground and physically assaulted.

By your reasoning anybody with a criminal record could be assaulted for any reason. That is a logic fail of cataclysmic proportions.

Guess we need to keep any eye on these types of people who have domestic terrorist charges on their record.
Her political associations whatever they may be does not give people the right to assault her.
