You can have your version, but not your own facts. EIJ progressed like others out of the MB, b/c they would not engage in violent acts. TWH was also an extremist offshoot.

You should really read your source material and not just listen/read propaganda. Do you really want to see what our INTEL confirmed? Do you? From YOUR OWN FILES SOURCE...

Top of pg. 2...."TAKFIR WAL HIJRA" apparently has no direct links to MB or any other Islamic society in Egypt.

Is the MB fanatical? Sure, but so is the Tea Party and so is the the Family Research Council.

Enjoy your reading.

Here is a great article on the truth about the Muslim Brotherhood from objective scholars. The movement swore off violence in the 1990's and became mainstream.

Anzalone: The Muslim Brotherhood Myth | Informed Comment

It's hilarious how the your typical CD Israeli apologists are trying to turn this pro-Democracy movement into some pity party for Israel......But misinformation is what they do.

Almost assuredly these are right wing, Israeli immigrants who hold dual US citizenship in these forums spreading misinformation.

Repressive? You're telling me that ISRAEL is repressive? If the Muslim Brotherhood has its way with Egypt, they would throw the Egyptian constution out the window to be replaced by Sharia law, a shocking, bloody, and archaeic, and hellish system of government that should offend anyone with any respect for basic human rights. I have been a huge supporter of Obama until now. Now that I see his blind support for the will of the Egyptian people without considering the ramifications of it, I have had to seriously reconsider my political viewpoints.

Quote:
It is clear, however, that the Ikhwan's [Muslim Brotherhood's] leaders are deeply committed to increasing the role of Islam in Egyptian public life; that adhering more to Sharia has widespread popular appeal; and that many of the group's supporters expect it to place Sharia at the centre of its political agenda.
BBC News - Profile: Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood

So let's see how long this new "democracy" lasts before it becomes another Iran. But of course, it's what the people want. Maybe Obama needs to realize that democracy doesn't work everywhere.

I suspect that some folks need to read the Egyptian constitution as it exist now, today, this minute, they might be surprise by how utterly uninformed they are.

Take note that some of those who defend the Muslim Brotherhood coincidentally enough also hate Israel. I think that speaks volumes.

Like someone else mentioned. I do believe the Left has more in common with the evil in the Middle East that anyone is willing to admit. They both hate Israel and the jews. They both think America should be put in its place.

God help us.

Is the US a friend of the 'global good'? Just how many democratic governments has the US overthrown and installed dictators or vicious juntas to terrorize the population.

I don't purport to claim that Egypt has had the best track record with human rights, but it is nothing compared to what will happen should Egypt become a Sharia theocracy.

And Egypt's penal code per its constitution has nothing to do with Sharia law which is the area of that law I was referring to. Do you think that will still be the case once the MB takes over?

Default The Muslim Brotherhood (in Arabic) from its own website

The hatred for the US of some of the posters here has spilled over to America's strongest ally in the region, Israel. The MB is exactly the kind of power these posters would LOVE to see take Egypt.

The face the MB presents to CNN or the NY Times is very different than what it presents to the Arab masses (although even in the false "moderation" it presents to a western audience, it calls for war with and destruction of Israel). Behold the harangue of the current leader, Muhammed Badi:
In a sermon published Sept. 30 titled "How Islam Confronts the Oppression and Tyranny [against the Muslims]," Badi said waging jihad against both Israel and the United States is a commandment of Allah that cannot be disregarded.

The remarks were delivered in a weekly sermon, published Sept. 30 on the Muslim Brotherhood's website and translated into English by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

Governments trying to stop Muslims from fighting the U.S., he said, "are disregarding Allah's commandment to wage jihad for His sake with [their] money and [their] lives, so that Allah's word will reign supreme" over all non-Muslims.

Some U.S. and Western leaders are urging engagement and partnership with the Brotherhood, because they regard it as moderate. But the movement considers itself an instrument of the charge Muslims were given when Islam was founded 1,400 years ago – to make the Quran and Allah's authority supreme over the entire world.

In a 1991 document titled "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America," the Brotherhood stated the Muslim community "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah's religion is made victorious over all other religions."

In his sermon, Badi declared Arab and Muslim regimes are betraying their people by failing to confront the Muslim's real enemies, not only Israel but also the United States.

All Muslims are required by their religion to fight, he said: "They crucially need to understand that the improvement and change that the [Muslim] nation seeks can only be attained through jihad and sacrifice and by raising a jihadi generation that pursues death just as the enemies pursue life."
