Not saying that we are stupid in the south, we just haven't had experience with the unions.

Unions aren't always bad, just saying. I don't like them in public jobs whatsoever though.
Agreed.

What is the purpose of unions, to offer representation to the employees, to prevent the unscrupulous, greedy, heartless boss from taking unfair advantage of his employees. Are we to believe that the government politicians and bureaucrats, who the libs put 100% faith in, are not to be trusted?

Libs think government can be trusted to run our health care, and anything else the libs want them to take control over. but the government is not trusted to control the salaries and pensions of state employees???

Teachers do have representation, it's called elected representatives from the city, county, and state. BTW, Walker is allowing them to retain their union reps to present their side of issues and demands, so that part remains the same.

I turned it off after that parade float said "I'm out here for my students."

No, you're not, sweet cheeks. You're out there because you could give two s***s about the students. If you really cared about the kids, you would have stayed in the classroom and shown your dedication while your union reps tried to reach some sort of agreement.

Taking the unauthorized day off to protest the state, is that a violation of her contract?

Yup, there is plenty of time to protest after school lets out for the day.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start bitching about losing summer vacation time since the school year will have to be extended.
