Has Trump's credibility been so damaged too the point that he will bow out for a Presidential bid? Donald Trump rode the birther movement to popularity and the polls reflected that. Now that his platform and talking point has been destroyed, does Trump back since he was essentially proven wrong.

Actually, Trump becomes more competitive in the GOP primaries because of this. Obama gave Trump a gift: he made Trump look credible to Republicans by appearing to give in to Trump's demand for the birth certificate.
It may be a clever Obama move. He knows Trump will never win the GOP nomination or the general election. But this "gift" strengthens Trump's hand against frontrunner Romney. A bruising primary fight between Trump and Romney weakens the eventual winner, while Obama has no challenger from the left and continues to pile up money for the general election. A Trump vs Romney GOP primary will also expose the joke that the GOP has become.
You can't lose what you didn't have in the first place. Donald Trump isn't a credible candidate for President. But since he has more money to play with than you can shake a stick at, he isn't affected by such silly concepts as "polls," or "credibility." He's playing a game--and he'll keep on playing that game until the Republican Party convention nominates someone else. (Even then, you can't put it past him to run as a third-party candidate, if he's got a really serious case of White House Fever).
What loss of credibility...? Trump made the little pr!ck pony up. He forced him to be a man..! Trump is going to be obama's worse nightmare. He has the b@lls to go after him like the rest of the pansy politicians are afraid to do.
Trump was never proven wrong, All he ever asked was for him to show the certificate and he was FINALLY forced to do so. Daddy Trump spanked the little socialist boy's butt..!!
Sorry but Trump's plan backfired. He was hoping Obama would never release it while continuing to create doubt in the public's mind and ride the the success he created by separating himself from the other Republican potential candidates by being aggressive on the birther issue.
The problem is Obama provided the birth certificate and essentially removed whatever successful platform Trump was riding. Trump's response today is just damage control. Trump basically called Obama's bluff and was unsuccessful. In short, Trump played poker and lost.
I guarantee Trump's poll numbers will drop and he won't run for the Presidency. Just watch
To me, what Trump has succeeded in doing is raising the bar on the level of scrutiny a presidential candidate can expect.
If Trump obtains the GOP nomination or if he runs as an Independent, he better be prepared to be subjected to a public scrutiny he has never seen before.
Hey, Trump was to only person to get Obama to submit to him and reveal the long form. Many others have asked to see the proper BC including the Clintons, but Obama ignored their request. Trump asked and voila, the long form finally appeared.
What Trump did, was change public opinion. At present
in an USA Poll only 38% definitely believed Obama was
born in this country. Obama released it, to end speculation,
once and for all. Now, we can just bash Obama for
his failures and policies
