Why, because the media attacks and destroys anyone who is not a liberal.

When the lefties hereabout get their wish and Rupert Murdoch dies (which won't be long now; he's about 80 or so), and Fox disappears, there won't be ANY media opposition of note to the Left's agenda and the current administration.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with the left-wing media and the Democrats seeking complete political power to control the country with no fear of dissenting opinions being raised. It's Darwinism, that's all. And the left falls all over itself to worship at the Holy Shrine of the Monkey's Uncle.

But please, PLEASE don't lie about it all, and pretend that achieving dictatorial power is somehow a result of your incredible virtue, rather than your willingness to engage in fascist smear tactics.

I just wonder what "Jon Stewart", Bill Maher, Michael Moore, and the rest of the left-wing hyenas are going to do when the airwaves are cleansed of Fox News. Hmm. Well, there's always Sarah Palin's develomentally disabled child to mock. Oh, and Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich are still trying to steal America's precious bodily fluids. Guess it's no prob, after all.

It's going to be tough, though, with no right-wing nuts left, and so many topics and people unofficially (nudge, nudge) 'off-limits'...

Despite all the bluster of Rightwing folks on this board about how Obama is going to be so easy to beat, the folks EXPERIENCED in politics know better. Compared to past Presidents' Obama's approval ratings have held up EXCEPTIONALLY WELL - and with the economy continuing to improve, by the time the 2012 elections arrive he should be in a VERY STRONG position in regards to his re-election chances. This is NOT an opinion based on my political PREFERENCE - it's one based on what's happened under similar conditions IN THE PAST.

Ken
Name a president that was elected with a higher than 8% UE rate...

And no, we're not going to go into WWIII to sustain it all.

I can name a president who was INAUGURATED with a 7.6% UE rate.

And his name is Barack Obama!

Think about it!

January Unemployment Rate Hits 7.6 Percent: What You Need to Know - US News and World Report

Quote:
Employers slashed their payrolls by 598,000 jobs in January, marking not only the biggest monthly cut since the recession began in December 2007, but the biggest since 1974, the Labor Department reported today. The unemployment rate rocketed to a more than 16-year high of 7.6 percent from 7.2 percent in December. The government also revised earlier job loss numbers to shower deeper cuts in November and December. About half of the 3.6 million jobs lost since the start of the recession have been lost in the past three months, indicating the economic slowdown is far from over.

It wasn't meant as a deflection.

It is simply the FACTS!

Better get used to it.

Obama will easily win again in 2012!

Obama took on the most challenging presidency in modern history ... and he came through it all with flying colors!
  • Stock Market is soaring.
  • Bin Laden is dead.
  • Bush's Iraq war is winding down.
  • Many companies are reporting strong earnings.
  • Companies are hiring again.
THANK YOU PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!

Isn't there a point where we stop blaming the media for everything? Palin tried that and the reality was that they were just playing back, verbatim, what she said and people were making their own judgments. I think these political leaders always blaming the media need to take more personal responsibility for their own capacities and limitations.

Also, every political party wants to have absolute power (Republicans seemingly moreso than Democrats, who are far more willing to compromise). Most voters, however, prefer a balance.

Anyway - maybe it's not the media and simply the fact that Obama's doing an overall good job in most people's opinion:

RealClearPolitics - President Obama vs. Republican Candidates

  • Stock Market is soaring due to massive Quantitative easing which only papers over the problem. All of this debt is absolutely crushing us.
  • Bin Laden is dead. He's been dead for a while.
  • Bush's Iraq war is winding down. Obama starts new war in Libya.
  • Many companies are reporting strong earnings. Because they are moving over seas and exploiting cheap labor.

I think you nailed it ken. These poll numbers have been steady and with a little economic growth in the next year they will only improve. I suspect there is still plenty of funds to be spent out of the stimulus and we should see quite a bit over the next year.

I took 2008 off after working for Kerry and Gore locally. After what I have seen so far, Obama might get me off the fence. In a way, this 24/7/365 "chicken little" hate campaign from the right has done as much to mobilize me as anything Obama did or didn't do.

Maybe it IS the media, which seems oddly averse to criticizing Democrats and is doing an ever-better job of brainwashing the lemmings.

Witness your reference to Palin, who isn't even an elected official!

Unless you haven't been paying attention, the goals and tactics of the left, as expressed in 90% of the media and most college and university faculties, have successfully manipulated public opinion in ways never dreamed of previously.

Are you seriously arguing that the influence of the left-wing media has not affected pulbic opinion? And that the imminent demise of the only Conservative media source (Fox News) will not leave us with what is essentially a one-part state?

That's not compromise. That's a dictatorship.
