Hahaha, this is funny. I feel badly for the Germans though. They are going to have to bailout the lazy leeches yet again. Germans are known for being productive hard workers with admirable work ethics. Greeks? Not so much.

The EU would be a serious contender if all nations involved were like the Germans. Sadly, most are not like the German's. So all the problems of the EU will need to be resolved by the German's. Tough luck, they won't get much out of it.
As usual, things are quoted out of context. After modification to German vacation laws and working hours for which she was blasted in Germany, she recommended Greeks, to work more hours with less vacation. However, statistics show that Greeks take the same vacation time and work a fraction more (weekly hours) then Germans.
The problem is not how much Greeks work, but the monetary system under which they were forced. The European governments lost their power to adjust their national currencies which is the greatest limitation for governments to rule.
Introduction of the Euro, has been a disaster for all Europe. I believe that sooner or later they'll have to put an end to this flawed idea.
The real problems with Greeks are lack of industrial development and their tradition to evade paying taxes. Not paying taxes is a national sport.

Showing up to work <> working.
Much like watching some work crews in dear old Chicago where it was pretty clear they weren't exactly "motivated".
The trouble with socialism, though, is that it is nobody's fault.
No one is responsible in a no-fault society.
Prisons are not needed.
Well you can't keep robbing Peter to pay Paul because eventually Peter will either a) run out of money or b) get pissed off that he gets to keep less and less as time goes by.

And all being members of the EU if one goes down they all go down.
They really have no choice here.
