why not have school all year long for students? if the families want to take a vacation, they can schedule their week (or whatever they usually take) at any time during the school year-with the teacher giving the assignments they will miss. vacation time would be staggered then, and teachers could take their vacation time when they wanted to as well.

the students will have a longer learning period and the structure of school, people can vacation whenever it is convenient and possibly less expensive, and the theme parks will be less crowded in the summer (okay, i threw that last one in for me and it is self-serving

but what would be wrong with year round schooling and structure, and obviously more information to be absorbed?

It's not that they don't have enough time with the students, it's the quality not the quantity.
