The desire for diversity and inclusion, is a state of mind and heart, not so much based on location. Conservatives fail miserably in all three.
This is basically the answer right here: for most white liberals, being for "diversity" isn't about living with black and brown people, it's about saying that you like diversity. Which is complete nonsense of course, but there it is.
I would ask again why people would claim to like something that they obviously don't, but there probably isn't an answer for that question.
When white liberals talk about wanting diversity, what they mean is that they want fewer whites and no conservatives.
The problem for them is that they themselves don't want to be around non-whites, so they embrace cities that are statistically very non-white, but have neighborhoods that are very white. Naturally, liberals live in those white neighborhoods.
Either that,, or they move to very white places like Portland, Oregon or Vermont and then insist that diversity is very important to them even though it obviously is not.
It's just like Presidents Obama and Clinton embracing public school, then sending their own children to private schools with mostly white student bodies from very wealthy families.
It's just like Senator Ted Kennedy demanding that we have green energy, and then protesting a proposal to build wind mills within view of his summer home on Cape Cod.
It's just like Al Gore demanding that Americans use less energy, but owning a mansion with a monthly electric bill in the thousands of dollars and flying on private jets.
It's just like Michael Moore adopting the personna of a tough blue collar steel worker but living in a multi-million dollar penthouse in New York.
It's just like...well, to shorten things up a bit, it's just what liberals do -- be hypocritical.
So what conservative places contrast by being more diverse? Kingsport-Bristol, TN-VA, one of the most segregated metros in the country? Bismarck, ND--number 355 out of 366?
I think you missed that poster's point. That poster never claimed or attempted to prove that those areas were diverse and not segregated.
This behavior is more a matter of wealth than the ethnicity of the neighbors. The wealthy have always segregated themselves form the rest of us. This applies to everything from schools to housing to retirement. This is a behavior shared by both rich liberals and rich conservatives.
It is a game they play. It has to do with being "politically correct". When it comes down to it they are very scared of reality, truth and the consequences of their actions. Liberals are generally ignorant, selfish and tend to only see things the way they want to. They lack objectivity and confuse integrity with being politically correct. They have a false sense of reality and everything they say should be questioned. They are usually easily manipulated and generally have been conditioned by the media, their family and educational facilities to act and speak a certain way which is contrary to reality.
These same things can be said for many self proclaimed "republicans" however. In truth, most modern Americans are ignorant and do not practice what they preach regardless of political leanings.
